the team traded 2022 first-round pick Kenny Pickett to the Philadelphia Eagles, league sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Friday.
The Steelers will receive a 2024 third-round pick (No. 98) and two 2025 seventh-round picks in exchange for Pickett and a 2024 fourth-round pick (No. 120), sources told Schefter.
Great decision by Steelers, finally admitting their mistake in thinking they were gonna miss out on another Pittsburgh QB great. And why are Eagles giving up a 3rd round pick for a guy who should’ve gone in the 5th round?
The eagles needed a backup, but I agree that I’m not seeing the value in this deal for them.
Is Pickett really that bad? I don’t really follow the Steelers, so maybe my impression isn’t accurate, but it seemed to me that even though he wasn’t franchise QB material, he didn’t seem like a complete disaster. I thought Matt Canada was more of a problem than Pickett was…
He’s a good game manager type QB for college but backup duty at most in the NFL. Giving 3rd round pick for a backup QB is mighty high price. They could have picked up a QB with that 3rd. Canada is a problem for sure but Pickett contributed to it. Steelers need to replace their QB scouts. Spent a 1st round on that guy!
Pickett(6 TD) had less TD’s last year than rookieTommy Devito(8 TD), who played 9 games for the Giants.

Howie is an amazing GM, and almost all of his moves have had the magic touch to it, but this one puzzles me. Maybe he knows something we don’t.
