I’m curious about that too. Ableton Live, Studio One and about 1500 VSTs including Arturia’s, Izotope’s and Native Instruments’ stuff are the things keeping me on Windows for my own main PC. It has been a while since I used a Linux DAW. I use Linux more and more for other things now, because I’m not enjoying the feeling of Microsoft owning my computer. It’s a shame because under the hood Windows gets better and better, but they just make the user experience increasingly annoying.
I don’t think they can go full cloud, whatever that would mean, because of all the professionals with professional software that runs on desktop Windows.
