    Spider plants.

The expression on my husband’s face when I found a sad spider plant after Halloween and said “Do you think I can save it?” would tell you everything you need to know about how well I keep plants. I’ve got two black thumbs.

Somehow, though, I’ve kept this reject spider plant alive for 6 years, and propagated it to make dozens of plants for other folks.

I’ve absolutely neglected this thing, and somehow it loves it. Water? Might happen weekly, might happen monthly. Sunlight? I forget to open the blinds half the time. Laves crusting up? I just chop them off and hope for the best. It’s indestructible!

  • My favourite PB and P sandwiches are built on the junkiest white bread you can find. I’m in Canada, so my top picks are Pom or Betty bread, which are cakey and sweet like Wonder bread. I use unsweetened chunky peanut butter (Kraft brand), and Bick’s garlic dill pickles. I slice my pickles up and blot them so they don’t sog up my trash bread.

These are my favourite brands of peanut butter and pickles outside this monstrosity, so I’d say you can’t go wrong with what you already like.

I started paying attention to where my clothes were designed and crafted a couple of years ago, and this website has been an incredible resource for me! Highly recommend folks check it out

  • I made the same move, during the same time, for the same reasons. I am incredibly lucky to be able to buy higher priced items made in country, and I would rather that money stay in Canada supporting Canadian businesses.

I’ve recognized I don’t need more stuff, and the stuff I do buy should be built to last as long as possible. Love the recommendations!
