Yes. You could use mailgun.com for example for sending mails. You get 10K free I believe and it’s easy to setup

For the hostname aka domain change it to your own, likewise with passwords for each installed service. Like the docs say, most services are additional and not required ;-)

Matrix is our self-hosted equivalent of a ‘federated’ WhatApps like platform. You could use it but it’s not required ;-)

For Mastodon that’s all settled(and other services) but Lemmy and Kbin are kinda still in early dev an are missing a lot of features. I think I’ll keep up the Lemmy instance at least for a while! But Kbin not so sure since it’s not a real addition I think
