okay but when do chores happen? i can barely keep up on dishes and laundry with a 45 minute commute each way. sleep, too…

“hyper-accelerates the aging of all plaforms” that’s a funny way to spell “planned obsolescence” but you do you
i just cut my own hair and do what i want with it, tbh
that’s from the cover/title art for the games Every Extend Extra and Every Extend Extra Extreme! i used to play the latter a bunch on my old xb360
honestly, i started the demo, and while the gameplay wasn’t bad, the characters and story didn’t grab me at all, and i lost interest almost immediately. maybe i’ll snag it in a year or two, after the GOTY, during a sale
that’s fair. it’s also easier for me to repair and modify my synth if i’m the one building it, which, chipocalypse-scale disruptions aside, makes the whole thing a little more future proof. and if this is the only synth i get, then i’d need to be able to repair it.
my rule for my own rack is that i have to solder at least part of every single module (and now that i’m set up for surface mount work, i’ll be able to build even more :3:3:3), and i’d think this would be the same
not sure about apt, but with apt-get the default behavior for upgrade is to hold back packages with new dependencies that are not currently installed. in that case, running sudo apt-get upgrade --with-new-pkgs
should get those packages upgraded as well, assuming that dependency conflicts aren’t a factor, too
yeah, clementine is amazing. it handles my absurd music library well while still being able to run on my ancient laptops
i think it’s something the admins can toggle — it seems to be turned off for all of blahaj and a few other instances. i can’t seem to find mention of it in the official lemmy docs, but it’s discussed in a few threads on their github, so maybe it’s just an option in the admin interface somewhere?
that makes sense, and i can understand that analogy. i really should be less timid about reporting. i think i was more responding to the second panel of the meme — it’s not a matter of disgust or weak dislike — usually i’m either actively turned off by what i’m downvoting, or i’m experiencing some kind of reminder of trauma. not that it matters on here in my case; downvotes are disabled on my instance.
they work great with Clementine, too, which is cross-platform. and with a SD/flash adapter and Rockbox, the older models can still be capable little devices today. rockbox, at least, does start to chug a little with dynamic playlists over several thousand songs, though…
or… whatever got posted was a legitimate turnoff or bad vibes for someone, or simply posted in the wrong place
that said, being rude is both unnecessary and self-defeating, and probably derails folks’ horny more than just downvoting or blocking and then moving on so idk
might be a friend group thing. more or less everyone i know that has either played it or watched a playthrough loves disco elysium
my guess is it’s the same as why they’re used on mastodon — they’re fun
it’s an interesting start, but i’m not sure how to fit in things like xenogenders and therian-gender identity intersections.
if the zero-point is meant to allow for bigender folks, then some kind of dimension/measure for overall intensity regardless of masculine/feminine/fluidity would be handy to accomodate demigender and agender folks, or the other way around if the zero-point is meant to be a point of reference for overall intensity vs the intensity of individual attributes.
maybe individuals having multiple points or ranges within the overall space could help, too? idk
neat! :3 i’m curious, what are the secondary glyphs on the alphas?
no help here, i live in a sea of nightmare cable spaghetti
umm, well i got another no-input mixer module (a DE-5 Shakti) for my small feedback rack, and will probably spend some time feeling that out and making horrible noises after it’s built. aside from that, i’ll be combing BOMs and putting together a tayda/mouser cart for all the cheap st-modular PCBs we snagged in the modularaddict sale last week :3:3:3
i didn’t realize the commute was implicitly a part of the 8 hours in your scenario. that makes a little more sense.
