I play AD&D (currently playing though Temple of Elemental Evil). Why? Because the people I play with are proper OG nerds, they played D&D when it was originally released (my DM still has his original red box). As a young whippersnapper coming from 5e it’s different I’ll give you that. It’s a lot harder to min/max and I appreciate that. Mostly it’s just fun seeing how DnD evolved, the fact that shenanigans will always ensue means it’s still fun as ever but just in it’s own special way.
If you can find an eye glass shop that can order them OvvOs. I’m pretty rough with my glasses (rock climber, falls asleep with glasses on, general clutz and eats it while walking) and I just had the lenses on mine swapped out for my new prescription after 4 years and they’ve held up wonderfully. One of the arms broke when they were adjusting the fit on my face (metal fatigued after 4 years of abuse). The company sent out a new set of arms and got them swapped out ASAP now they’re good as new (plus they sent a new set of all of the soft bits too). As a bonus they’re not Luxottica owned (if that matters to you).
