  • I was thinking of those poor young men and women who are already at the bottom of society and have no chance. I’m Indigenous Canadian so I know what it feels like to be at the bottom of the pile and I’ve lived with and know many young men and women who faced a life of prosecution. At one point you lose hope and give up and realize that no matter what you do, you’re going to get punished. Most people have a survival instinct that kicks in and says hang on and keep hoping for something. But I’ve also seen people lose hope and then just go out in a blaze of glory and kill and destroy as much as they can on their way out.

This is why capital punishment of any kind doesn’t work … once you take away people’s hope, then they become reckless and give up on following any social norms or laws.

… and a giant military installation the size of an entire moon complete with hundreds of cannons, shields, armour and even carrying entire fleets of fighter craft … and all it took to bring it down was an ‘exhaust port’? … like a one in a bajillion chance of firing a torpedo in the right hole in the right place at the right time was enough to blow up the entire station?

  • The logical, healthy approach to natural population growth and maintenance would be to provide social protections and supports for families and young people to grow into a society where they are encouraged and helped to start a family of one or two children in order to supply a healthy steady supply of new people for future generations.

Unfortunately, our world is governed by sociopathic wealthy overlords who demand more from people and want to give less to them. It’s not all their fault because the majority of us all sit around and just passively accept it as just a normal part of society. What that will probably mean is that in the future it will be a strange form of population control where children are no longer born but they will be manufactured and bred in order to provide a steady supply of human resources to keep the profit driven capitalist machine running for wealthy overlords.

From the look of how we managed our society in the past century … we won’t solve this problem sensibly, or with any empathy for society as a whole but rather try to deal with it from an economic and financial point of view. The wealthy owning class don’t see humanity as a whole that should be supported in any kind of healthy way … they see humanity as a source of wealth and a group of thinking individuals that can be taken advantage of to extract wealth for owners rather than for the whole of society.

  • It also accelerates the idea of creating a world of locked devices.

Old and current hardware can easily be adapted to a new OS including Linux. But I’m starting to notice that there are more and more devices that make it harder to install a new OS … especially on tablets and smartphones. The industry would love to get rid of old hardware and not allow users to drift into open source software and instead maintain a culture of people that will keep their OS locked to a device.

I think a day is coming where people will buy devices and even a laptop that has a locked OS that can’t be changed and everyone will be forced to junk the whole thing and buy the latest version.

I’m planning on keeping all my old laptops, tablets and smartphones for as long as I can.

I keep saying it all the time

It isn’t about the QUANTITY of life

It’s about the QUALITY of life

What sense does it make if you raise your population and everyone is miserably poor or on the edge of becoming poor?

It makes more sense if you just concentrate on making life more manageable, comfortable and sensible for the population you already have. Once you have a comfortable stable population of people who no longer worry about their future … then they will be more likely to have a family.

  • The fascinating thing to all this to me was in realizing that everything has an end date … an expiry date … even if that date is millions or billions of years in the future. It doesn’t matter to me or you because we’ll be gone in within this century (barring any miraculous medical changes that allow us to live longer than a hundred years) but there is some sort of strange comfort we are all equal that what … knowing that no one and nothing is eternal (that we know of so far).

  • It isn’t the work of one man or even five or six … it’s an entire political party and all their wealthy backers and supporters who are financing this circus that are either working at this, supporting it, enabling it or just standing aside and doing nothing to stop it.

Stop thinking that this is the work of one powerful person … it’s all enabled by an entire community of idiots that want all of this.
