Shout outs to Voyager developer and paraglider @[email protected] ! I wonder if he knows any other stylish freeflying-types.
Wandi Wang from Chongqing, China gave up her career in newscasting to paraglide full time and posting on YouTube and Instagram. This video of her dressed up as a witch is getting ripped off relentlessly, but I tracked down the source so flyhellodidi can get the exposure she deserves. Keep on finding pathways to the sky!
My partner actually told me about this last week, but recent events here in the US have taken my energy away and I just watched this today. I’m catching up, though!
In 2014, photographer Melvin Sokolsky returned to his iconic Bubble series from 50 years before, but this time with Jennifer Aniston in the bubble.
Could we make a vacuum balloon of out this acrylic bubble? If it’s sealed airtight, it might be strong enough to contain a vacuum without imploding, thus making it several pounds lighter than when it has air inside. Make stable acrylic vacuum bubbles big enough, and they’ll float like balloons. We were so close to this future once…
Our world has turned upside down. But at some point, we just have to adapt and get back in the air. We still have work to do.
I know this isn’t a good example of floating. I’m grieving for democracy.
I’m told that November 4 is Nice Butt Day, so here’s a butt. And not an NSFW butt like my previous attempt at this post.
Pardon the off-topic comment, but for those of us stuck on the ground in the US, please vote tomorrow. There’s about a 50/50 chance we could be ruled by a fascist dictator next year, so we need every vote we can get. I only want us to be peaceful and friendly with the rest of the world.
Gah, you’re right. Currently, we Fedia.io users can’t edit posts to add the NSFW flag, so I’ll have to delete this post and post something else. Sorry about that.

Halloween is done, but I still can’t stop using that #levitation tag, can I? Caring Wong is back with another scene too cool for just a YouTube music upload. This one didn’t make it to her DeviantArt.
Oh, just look at all the Lumas’ costumes, with matching candy buckets! Rosalina’s the best Mario girl. As far as I can tell, this artist only ever existed on Twitter and Miiverse.
Funny Photon’s version of Markdown renders ~text between tildes~ as subscript.
Oh! I didn’t know it was actually against the game’s code of conduct to ram like this. In that case, ramming is breaking a rule, and the offender should be reported and punished. What is the punishment for ramming like this, anyway? Is this win taken away from them?
If the developers don’t want players to ram each other, that rule should be enforced by the game itself. Either don’t have realistic collisions between players, or prevent cars from going offroad after a collision, or instantly take away the offender’s money or points.
Fighting game tournaments usually allow everything that’s possible in the game engine, but there are exceptions like intentionally crashing the game.
We’re using #levitation tag a lot this week, and that’s gonna happen on the week of Halloween. Like most of 6_chair’s work, this actually doesn’t have a title. The closest connection I could make was a Len Kagamine song about vampires, so I named it after that even though it’s probably incorrect. Len here is just chilling in the air for the fun of it, and Rin and Kaito are doing their own vampire style thing too.
That giveaway is still going, 4 years later, in case anybody missed it. Of course, I like NiGHTS!
I think we haven’t had anything from Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina before. The artist deleted this, though, and as far as I can tell, this artist doesn’t post anywhere else. Green Man Gaming doesn’t count.
I like chess, but I can’t think that fast. At that speed, I can only do [email protected] : push pawns, fork things with knights, always take en passant, and try not to blunder away the queen.
Look, I come from fighting games and not racing games, so this actually looks OK to me. The goal is to win the race by hook or crook, and you are expected to use every means at your disposal to win. It’s dirty play, but it isn’t against the rules, and you should expect all of your serious opponents to ram you in this situation.
It’s like snaking in Mario Kart DS. It’s a weird counter-intuitive mechanic that makes you go faster by powersliding constantly, even on straightaways. If you’re playing without snaking, you’re not really playing Mario Kart DS.
You know what? I thought Wish was an OK movie. Walt Disney Animation Studios experimented with making a CG movie look and feel like their classical era, adding these flourishes that look hand-drawn. It had mixed results, but I want Disney to experiment with this more. We found out a year ago that originally Wish was going to be more daring. Star was going to be a shapeshifting humanoid Jack Frost/Peter Pan-style magical force of joy. It seems the staff didn’t want to write that kind of romance into the movie, so Star Boy got downgraded to a magical critter. What could have been, though…
Me too! My weekly stream is becoming more of a yearly stream. My work schedule doesn’t really allow for consistent streams, but maybe that’ll change soon.
My loyal airheads, I must report that we no longer have the most threads of any Mbin magazine. The strongest lifting gas [email protected] has overtaken us. I’ve sent them a post congratulating them, but they might not take it well. In a few weeks, I’m probably doing that for [email protected] too.
In the era of the first powered airships, hydrogen was generated by pouring lots and lots of sulfuric acid over lots and lots of iron filings. While hydrogen production is far safer now, hydrogen is currently banned as a lifting gas in the US. With the correct precautions, I think we’re due for a hydrogen renaissance. I’d rather save the helium for MRI machines, honestly.
