I love Love is War. Objectively speaking, it’s slow-burn as hell but it does not bog down or tire you because it focuses on other characters rather than centralized to the two main characters. I mean, we have Chika and Miyuki’s “mother-son” relationship; Kaguya and Ishigami’s “sibling” relationship; Miyuki and Ishigami’s “best bro” relationship; and Kaguya and Hayasaka’s “sisters” relationship. And it has some gut punches too (S2E11 flashbacks).

For the movie, it’s solid and it definitely gives a good payoff for both Kaguya and Miyuki’s mind games. I definitely recommend you check it out!

The only show that had made me laughing so hard since Love is War gotta be KonoSuba but that’s another type of comedy different from Love is War’s brand of comedy. And hey, don’t forget to take a look at the dub! Dub’s a different beast, especially Ian Sinclair’s portrayal of the narrator.

Lemmings?

You can access and comment in Lemmy from kbin, but I’m not sure if you can do the same for Mastodon. But Mastodon users can certainly use their accounts to comment on Lemmy. The beauty of the fediverse (or threadiverse, as some guys like to call it)

I’ve been tinkering with my lemm.ee account and slowly transitioning from this account to there, but now I cannot access this community from there 😭. Looks like there haven’t been any lemmy.world subscriber from lemm.ee.

And I have already filed my registration for lemmy.world. Yet to have approval for my account though

Gusto ko lumipat sa lemmy.world na instance (because I signed up for lemmy.ml not knowing the ideological tilt they have) but the perpetual loading is just off-putting. I have successfully signed up for lemm.ee though and it’s run by an Estonian so I guess it’ll be safer. The community over there at lemmy.world seems to be peaceful (I visualize it as New Zealand countryside) while kami dito sa lemmy.ml is parang New York or Manila kasi ito gateway sa Lemmy apparently 😭

You can just think of that other account of yours as a backup. Think of it this way: your account lives in a server (kbin.social, lemmy.world, lemmy.ml etc). When you make another account on another server (i.e., you make an account on lemmy.world), that account lives there in that separate server. So you can have two Brad_Braces (even ten if you feel like it) but of different servers. There’s no conflict anyway

That’s only if you’re a Matrix user, I guess? Matrix is like the Facebook Messenger or Whatsapp or Telegram of the fediverse, like how Lemmy and Kbin are the Reddits of the fediverse, Pixelfed is the Instagram, and Mastodon is the Twitter.

Think of instances as “continents” where communities (think of them as “countries”) and users set up their base. For example, you’re now in the lemmy.world instance. That means you are a resident of the lemmy.world instance.

You can “travel” to other instances and participate in the communities they have there too and vice versa.

You only need one account to access the entire Lemmy network. So you can still access the movies community on lemmy.ml if it does become the definitive one and considering that it’s the “main” instance right now, that shouldn’t be hard either.

Go to hamburger menu (the three lines on the upper left corner) and then press on the Anonymous Browsing or whatever. Then a dropdown will appear that says “Add Account”. Then add your account

The niche anime ones. Where’s my bros at r/Kaguya_sama? r/SpyxFamily? r/swordartonline? etc?

Though I’m happy that I’ve seen one niche anime community today and that’s Bocchi the Rock’s.

I’d wager that next month this community will not be that small anymore, then it could be ramped up.

To hasten that process, a subtle information drive on r/anime and other anime-related subs about Lemmy could be done. The problem is with the login process and the slight learning curve that Lemmy comes with. Hope the devs solve it sooner and streamline it better.

As a fellow noob, take what I’ll say with a grain of salt, but my understanding of the servers is that think of them like this:

• Servers (i.e., Beehaw, lemmy.ml, lemmy.world etc) are “continents”
• Communities (i.e., AskLemmy) are “countries”

Every “country” is located in a “continent”. So AskLemmy “country” is located on the lemmy.ml “continent”. Users also have a home “continent”, that is where you sign up. So for example, you signed up for Beehaw, therefore you “live” in the Beehaw “continent”. I signed up here in lemmy.ml, so I live in the lemmy.ml “continent”.

Now if you sign up at Beehaw or in any other server, you can “travel” to the other “continents” (servers) and visit the “countries” (communities) that have their home base there and participate there too. So you, for example, can participate here in AskLemmy, which is located on the lemmy.ml “continent”. Sometimes your home “continent” issues a “travel ban” on particular “continents”, therefore you cannot visit that “continent” or the “countries” in them.

Now what the hell is kbin? Think of Kbin as another “planet”. They are fundamentally different from our “planet” (which is Lemmy), but residents from that “planet” can visit our planet and participate as well via a spaceship infrastructure known as ActivityPub.

Sorry if I used geography terms to illustrate my point. There’s a lot of nuance removed, but I think I got it nailed down based on my understanding. Take it with a grain of salt though.
