Political Humor@lemmy.world•Trump's slide toward dictatorship has been approved by CongressEnglish
1·2 months agoYou may be right, but we will never know until the GOP stands up to him and we see who blinks first.
I feel like there is a group of victims who Hitler blamed for many problems that is missing from this list.
Published in 2007, so may be too old, but I enjoyed Thirteen by Richard Morgan who also wrote Altered Carbon.

1·6 months agoNo assumption was made on the accuracy of the argument only on the validity of the argument, therefore no fallacy was committed,. On the other hand you committed the Hasty generalization fallacy by assuming OP’s intent.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•From your standards, are abusive people or those who cause trauma/discrimination “evil”?
2·7 months agoIt is not about acknowledgement, it’s about understanding the morality of the action. Most of the time, only they know the answer to that question.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•From your standards, are abusive people or those who cause trauma/discrimination “evil”?
8·7 months agoIn my opinion, in order for an action to be evil, the actor must know what is good or what is right behavior. While sometimes the actor acts with intent to cause harm, sometimes, the actor is ignorant of such things.

It wasn’t the Democratic voters that were the issue, they were never going to vote for Trump. Worst case scenario, they stay home. It was the independents and left-leaning Republicans that needed to be converted. There are a lot more of them, and they were frustrated by the southern border, the culture was and inflation.

OP here. It is titled that way because Congressional Republicans have the power to stop him in real time. The Congressional Democrats don’t have the power. The voter can have an impact next year. The courts cannot enforce shit.
