I actually enjoy the TTM, but it’s not something I play often. Getting a satisfying build down to destroy everything and being able to take characters who would never otherwise be a viable party is quite pleasing. And then when I don’t get the drops I need during a run to make that run as destructive as I’d like, it’s still fun to figure out how to adjust my approach to still make it work. The QoL they added to allow people to pause runs at any time is absolutely critical, though. I wouldn’t have been able to deal with it prior to that happening.
I have been wanting to run more of it to make more progress in the rewards, so this is good incentive for that.
However, I completely get how it wouldn’t be to everyone’s liking, and that’s also fine. This game has scope for so many different play styles that you can focus on the things you enjoy.
Kumos wishes to file a complaint about being called a pet.
No spoiler tags here unfortunately. I’ve just been going for the most oblique possible reference to things to cover spoilers.
My guess is that the catch-up will be later than that. Possibly November, or maybe even December, in time for the collab (if there is one this year), which would be simultaneous anyway, so a good event for them to aim for to celebrate catching up.
Not sure what happened with your connection/Kbin there, but this posted four times.
I’d probably say Iphi of those three. Her blood contract is somewhat ridiculous. I have absolutely gone into fights quite lazily and not sufficiently mitigated damage, or made mistakes that have gotten people killed, and they just pop straight back up again. She does combo with Yakumo extremely well also, but if you can only have one or the other, I feel like Iphi will get you further. Also, the design of her character quest is quite interesting.
I think we should be getting the free multi post-update for completing the survey if you did that, so if your SDE lasts long enough, you could see whether that decreases your options at all, but that would probably be too lucky!
All the catch-up campaigns are running until we catch up. The compiled campaign page they’re now maintaining is super handy for checking that kind of thing. https://api-ap.another-eden.games/asset/notice_v2/view/436?q=172488728&token=76a917d21f2c260b15fe54571c54971b&language=en
Even if it takes me ages to get around to this kind of thing, it’s still more rewards sitting there to be plundered when I do get around to it.
And in my experience people do often enjoy score challenge modes for bragging right potential. Not my thing, but the target audience is definitely out there!
You mean you don’t want a plushie of a depressed office worker?
Honestly, the newer players need the help more than veterans, since the slope for players getting into the game is rather steep, which makes it off-putting for many before they even get to the good stuff. However, they have also referred to this round of freebies as the “first supply drop”, which indicates there’s more to come.
Regarding rewards not being offered retroactively, I can’t think of any cases in which someone wouldn’t have qualified for campaign rewards by having completed content too quickly. There have definitely been ones that would require quite a bit of work to get to an appropriate reward point if you were just past one of the points. Otherwise, the ones that come to mind are either reissues of campaigns that were offered previously, in which only people completing the requirement for the first time would be eligible, or new campaigns that reward new completion as well as previous completion. Of course, I could be forgetting something entirely here!
Yeah, I’ve had a lot going on so have barely touched the episode so far, but having the leisure to do that rather than complete things before they go away is part of the appeal.
Hopefully things like the grasta discount will make life a bit smoother for newer players!
Regarding Yipha, her name should have been localised as Aoife, which is definitely a tricky one to get from katakana, so little wonder machine translation has trouble with it, but it would have been nice if it had been properly localised.
I watched a panel on localisation lately in the FFXIV fan fest, and they were talking about all of the additional notes that they receive along with the base text, including details of where there are specific references in the text to other media such as Shakespeare, so that the localisation can maintain the original intent. I suspect that this extent of detail being provided to localisation teams is quite rare, sadly, since pretty much everything in Another Eden is heavily referential, but there are definitely cases of that being lost in translation, and I’ve seen similar in other games.
I love it. More cat content is always welcome, even if it’s a repost of existing art!
Hmm, and I randomly got an achievement for Reclaiming the Painting Trial (Purgatory’s Pilgrimage) on logging in.
Yeah, I’ve been seeing similar updates in other games lately, so looks like iOS 12 is just officially old enough to be too difficult to guarantee compatiblity.
And yes, CATS!
Oh, that’s nifty. It would be interesting to see how take-up continues for official accounts.
Ha, I hadn’t paid attention to that, but I see it. Great, their new logo encourages people to close the window/tab/app!
Eh, Musk’s messed the site up so badly that I actively avoid it now as well. I see some accounts pushed through to a Discord server I’m in, and go specifically to check a couple of other accounts when I expect them to have posted, but the feed’s barely usable now. And I’m fine with not supporting it.
Given the doubling up on subject matter for some of their choices, it feels like there was a similar approach to when they’re selecting characters for a 7DE banner. Hopefully they do more of these so we can see more of our questions answered, though!
If multi-image posts were a thing here, I’d have posted all the images, but having to post each image as an individual reply was too tedious a prospect, especially in the middle of work. (I actually haven’t read them yet - I just saw that they’d been posted, and thought people would want to know)
Wow, lots of points for dedication there. Happy harpooning!
I didn’t even need to do anything for this one, since the link post function already populated a pretty decent summary once I gave it the link, but happy to take the credit~
I won’t be awake to post the news from the livestream before the following morning, but looking forward to waking up to the details!
