Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. I wonder where white rooves fall in terms of gentrification. Seems like it would improve surface albedo without driving up property prices.

MacroCycloto Ontario•Premier Doug Ford plans Ontario legislation banning scientific testing on 'pets' after issuing harsh warnings1·1 month agoYeah, that’s what I’m saying, but dropping the Health Canada requirement has to come first. And when you do drop the Health Canada requirement, which species are you going to decide are the ones that have to die or suffer for us to get drugs made? Because if none do, then humans do.
I think this whole topic is a bit of a distraction. I’m all for ending animal suffering, but his ban wouldn’t.
MacroCycloto Ontario•Premier Doug Ford plans Ontario legislation banning scientific testing on 'pets' after issuing harsh warnings3·1 month agoBanning it here will just move it to China. I think I would rather see them regulate it to be as ethical as possible instead of just banning it outright. Our modern society requires these experiments and healthcanada requires them to be done for approvals, so we should be working within that framework to be as kind to animals as possible instead of just offshoring the practice.

When I was looking for somewhere to live in Montreal we looked at a few old upper duplexes and a few condos. The condos were tiny, expensive and many floors up in the sky. The upper duplexes were huge, similarly priced and not so far up. I don’t know who is living in the condo buildings, but they keep building them.

You don’t get back enough energy relative to what you put in. The only reason it exists is due to government subsidies and mandates.

The sad thing is that we could not even get the capital gains tax through. That was our most recent opportunity on this front.
Anyone have an idea on what policy changes have lead to capital becoming more productive than wages? This is a very troubling situation. Labour drives the economy, not capital.
Yeah, some kind of legislation here would be nice. At least the credit card companies aren’t as entrenched as in the states.
This is awesome. Thanks for putting this together! Is there a permanent location this can be put? Maybe linking to it in the sub description?
