Kinda crazy to think about considering that LEDs are so efficient that they typically do not produce any significant heat at the use cases we’re used to.

By your logic a woman couldn’t be raped because she got wet and had an orgasm. Getting an erection isn’t a conscious thing that men will by, like lifting an arm. Plenty of men also get physically abused by their girlfriends / wives, despite being physically stronger and technically able to overpower them. If you really cannot fathom how psychological pressure & abuse works then I am not sure where to even start. I got raped by my ex early in my life when I was sleeping. And yes, men can get a boner when asleep too. I woke up during the event, obviously confused, and just went with it, before falling asleep again. I only understood what even really happened much much later in life.
I don’t care about California or any Ameritard state laws since we’re arguing about ethics, not legal advice.
It would’ve been coercion if the cop had offered her something in exchange of sexual favors, which is the exact opposite of what happened. So, seems like you don’t understand how coercion works. And keep your Ameritard labels for yourself please.
Your ad hominem is a great argument and really shows your moral high ground on this matter.
How many children did they save though?
The only reason people use Firefox is because of an icon in privacy mode? What?
If it were EU law they’d have to, or forsake the entire EU market.
If users have to agree to every bullshit license terms then I’m sure companies can do so too when it comes to some open source license that would give them legal liabilities over those who breach those terms. This is not unfeasible at all, just has to be done on a legislative level that would enforces it. The EU has done quite a few regulations for the consumer so I don’t think it is out of question. But I do think it is unlikely because video games are like an enigma to most politicians and still kinda stigmatized within older generations especially.
I’m not dismissing your argument because of who you are. I’m saying you’re being naive in your expectations of what the police can and will do.
You claim I’m naive so you dismiss my argument. You’re literally contradicting yourself here.
And if you actually do believe that an arresting officer who is willing to fuck a detainee will be constrained by legal limits to their power, then I really don’t know how to respond to that.
What would he do? Put someone into his cellar? That would not be backed by his supposed power level of being a cop, that would just be an act of a criminal like any other, cop or not. Your whole argument is that it is rape because of the power imbalance and what he could have done to her if she refused, based on the power granted by his job. You’re spinning one hypothetical scenario after another to make a point that just boils down to a black & white ACAB.
Yeah. I wasn’t sure whether you’re mocking people maintaining their bikes or yourself there. I think doing a quick tightening of your screws, oiling / waxing your chain and adjusting your derailleur are kinda the main things you want to do, especially if the bike was standing around for a while (even more so if stored outside where the temps fluctuate even more).
I think a compromise could be that developers would have to open source their games if they drop support, like entire support not just maintenance mode, so that the community can maintain them from then on. They could still have some sort of licensing to ensure the code isn’t used for something else or the product used for profit (this would not include something like maintenance cost for online titles so that community ran servers could be paid for).
A lot of people block lemmy.ml.
Who needs a dork disc? Bad things won’t happen if you keep your bike maintained. /s
When was the last time you indexed / adjusted your derailleur?
Sure buddy, whatever. Love the thin veiled ad hominem though. Really underlines your argument.
They aren’t able to just take away all freedom because they don’t actually have that power. A cop can only hold you in custody for so long. A system can still only take away your freedom based on the crimes committed and that is still for a court to finally decide on whether you’re found guilty of that or not. In this case the situation is that the cop can make you NOT go to prison by looking the other way or falsifying data. It’s the opposite scenario of what you’re describing. This is a quid pro quo situation where both parties would be benefiting from their underhanded deal that they’ve made.
YT does not care. I remember years back when the cheating scandal of FrankieOnPCin1080p & Jackfrags in DayZ came out after they got banned from one of the servers at the time (at this point the admin did not even realize who they banned) and he did the same thing to bury it.
