I had no idea. Thank you for expanding my knowledge on a plant that I eat almost daily. Truly fascinating!
I also miss the little light
He looks like he’s about 12, she looks like she’s on the verge of 105. Interesting photo
Made me spew tea out of my nose, bravo!
I’ve been a who fan for almost 40 years and didn’t put 2 and 2 together until your comment… feeling elated for the revelation and a bit like a nonce at the same time
It’s about a ship using a technology for quick travel that gets damaged and takes the crew to an unimaginable fate once they realize the implications of their situation. It’s a great what if concept like most pulp sci-fi of the era.
Fantastic read. One of my top 10 for concept and execution.
I know this specifically states other than new trek, but, Subspace Rhapsody, SNW, WTF? This one takes the cake
I’m currently reading Sword and Citadel, second half of The Book of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe.
This is one that stuck with me LONG after I finished reading it
I’m reading Shadow and Claw, First Book of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe. I am a prolific reader, often reading 2-4 books a week. This one I have been reading for a week now and I’m only half way through. I have to stop often and look up the meanings of words often because the verbiage is rich and dense, and not in common circulation anymore. I am not loving it, nor hating it, just enjoying it. It’s just so unlike anything I’ve read before and I highly recommend it.
Before They are Hanged by Joe Abercrombie. It’s book 2 of the First Law series. I’m mainly a Sci-fi reader, but started this fantasy series, and wow, what a ride.
We had one of these for twenty years. Made composting a breeze. I used a pitchfork to turn compost and move it from bay to bay. Made black gold out of weeds, leaves, and kitchen scraps.
Stand on Zanzibar - John Brunner
It’s straight out of a fairytale
•The Diamond Age - Neal Stephenson - 3.5. The book examines class consciousness through the lens of technology, interesting read
• Kiln People - David Brin. - 3.5 Disposable clay doubles and a private investigator’s attempt to get to the bottom of a mystery. Engaging and fun read
• Memory’s Legion - James S.A. Corey - 3. The novellas, and digital extras for The Expanse series. The Expanse is one of my favorite series. Most of the book’s material was included in the television series.
• Clans of the Alphane Moon - Philip K Dick - 3.5. PKD is always a wild ride!
• City - Clifford D Simak - 4 - A collection of stories about humanity and man’s best friend from present to thousands of years into the future. Really enjoyed this one
• Life - Keith Richards - 4 - “It’s Only Rock and Roll, but I like It!” Life of a rock and roll icon from early days to adulthood. The guy has lived an interesting life.
Silo. It’s a decent show despite the wooden acting from Common. Looking forward to season 2.
