I don’t get the AOC hate. I mean I understand minor frustrations with him but I feel like a lot of people want to trash him so quick. Like let the dude cook and I think we could have a solid qb. I think with AP and Hardegree he could really fine tune and tweak his few flaws. I think he could be the real deal just get him a solid backup but I think a lot of us fans are sleeping on my boy. He’s been holding his own, especially with so much change during his rookie year. End rant. Stop the raider hate.

Hes good enough to be serviceable but with as many good QBs as there are in the next draft you can’t pass on a qb. Absolutely have to get a solid qb being that this is the best qb draft in a long time

I’m not hating on him and think he should finish out the year and it isn’t close. But, if things don’t change, I think we need to draft a qb early next year.

Sure, he’s a rookie, but he also spent a lot of time in college and is the same age as Tua. He should be a lot more polished. He has glaring weaknesses in the pocket with his presence, foot work, and inability to escape pressure. That was his issue in college, and at his age I just don’t see that changing. If he were early 20s then sure maybe give him time to develop but that isn’t the case.

QB is not the position to go with the “He’s good enough and cheap” position unless you’re someone like SF who has an absolutely loaded roster and proven offensive Guru that can help the QB thrive. The Raiders should aggressively look for a QB in this draft and if they find one that is gettable and better for the team than AOC, that is priority number one.

First major Keys to building a team: Get a QB (_______) Get to the QB (Crosby) Protect your QB (Miller)

Yeah I feel like I missed something and the 49ers won a Super Bowl somewhere between now and 1995 I’m not aware of.

The 49ers I know haven’t won despite having a STACKED roster because they haven’t had a QB.

People keep pointing to the team that keeps underperforming year after year because of QB play as a shining example of why it’s ok to not have a great QB when they prove exactly the opposite.

Here’s the deal. AOC will be a starter in 2 or 3 years. That was the plan. He was supposed to be behind Jimmy G then take over after Gs contract was up. He’s been thrown into a fucked scenario and he’s doing well.

I don’t think we need to draft a QB, I think we need a vet with good production to feed the ball to our offense and make better decisions. If we continue beefing up the defense we’re contenders by next year.

The question is who do we put in to start in front of AOC. Unpopular opinion, but it looks like Dobbs is going to stay with Vikings, and Justin Fields is getting cut by the Bears. We should pick up Fields or Cousins, and go draft heavy on defense and OLine- then get some wins over the next three years and left AOC take over right behind that.

Oh and get a better OC.

OP is the worst type of fucking raider fan I swear smh. How the fuck can you “hate” on your own team? Smh you type fans the worst because everything is emotional with you lol, since you got an emotional connection with AOC we should keep him smh. I’m sick of the raiders always settling for scraps, GO DRAFT A GENERATIONAL QB PLEASE FOR ONCE IN MY LIFETIME! I’m sick of getting these fringe ass QBs then gotta hear Reddit telling me to “stop hating and let him cook” lol stfu. I like AOC, seems like a nice guy but he’s not the QB of the future for the raiders and anyone with eyes should be able to see this.

Just go draft a generational QB. Jeez. It’s so elegant but so simple. Why didn’t any of us think of that?

Lol I feel you. I think it’s crazy to say we’re not by large an emotional fan base. I’m a generational fan, like a lot of us are. We have traded and lost a lot of talented players under a staff who didn’t spend time developing a team. No one is saying to settle, I’m just saying let staff work on him. As someone who was able to experience poly hs football and see how dedicated and intense the coaching style was for the team I would love to see how this might work with the rookie. The kid is fearless which has its ups and downs. There’s some things you cannot teach in athletes but there are things you can correct. For me, personally, I think he could be great. Also it’s very easy to hate on your own team. It’s not necessarily hating the team or brand but if I see Crosby Adams Jacobs Renfrow enjoying playing I’m not going to make a trade post after every game.

This is why we have the rest of the season to let him play

I see good things from him and I see bad things, right now I don’t see him as a long term NFL quarterback but he’s shown me enough that he deserves at least the rest of the season to prove me wrong

He needs to get through his reads quicker and stop holding the ball so long, he isn’t athletic enough to extend plays. Decision making also needs to improve, too many of his interceptions have been flat out awful. I’m starting to question his accuracy a little bit but I think he’s still working through some jitters so giving him the benefit of the doubt for now.

Dude is a backup playing like a backup. Yeah let’s keep him in case our rookie QB goes down next year. We have to draft QB we have no choice.

They want a mobile QB and think that’s a sure fire thing you get with an early first round draft pick, like Johnny Manziel, Trey Lance, Justin Fields, Zach Wilson, Marcus Mariota, Robert Griffin III, etc

Sure, every once in a while you find a bust later in the first round like Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson or Patrick Mahomes, but mostly it’s guaranteed winners when you’re picking a QB in the Top 5.

There are at least two players and some would say four in this upcoming draft that are better prospects than everyone in your first list.

Everyone acts like every draft class is equal and it’s not true. For example, this last QB class was weak and everyone knew it. Bryce Young had huge red flags but went first because virtually every QB did.

Acting like there was the same probability of Young and Manning being stars because they both went first overall is dumb. You have to do the actual scouting.

There are 7 year vets who are making the same mistakes. How long has Jared Goff been in the league? Im pretty sure he threw 3 picks yesterday and he’s had WAY more time playing vs that opponent and has been in that same system. Ive seen enough people smarter than me about football say that what they’re seeing in AOC is elite. He’s just gonna make rookie mistakes like everyone.

Imagine in your 3rd start (not counting the JMD game) they tell you that you have to throw the ball at Jalen Ramsey in his house across the country. THATS TOUGH

    People are just frustrated

Realistically, its not even a question. We’re not going back to Garoppolo this season, unless AOC gets injured. We’re not pulling a Browns and signing a Joe Flacco in desperation either. AOC will get to the end of the season to audition for the starting role next year. So he’ll either show steady growth, or he wont, and we dont have any decisions to make one way or the other till next spring

I just don’t see what people think “time” is going to do for him. He missed a bunch of wide open receivers yesterday, his arm doesn’t look exceptionally strong, he doesn’t seem to be able to move through progressions fast enough, and he can’t look receivers off the ball. I mean, give any college QB enough time and they could overcome this issues, but I just don’t get what about him is good enough to warrant that time
