According to internal assessments within the UK government, the UK should prepare for the scenario of an unexpected collapse of the Russian Federation so that such events do not take London by surprise.
I’d have liked if this wasn’t news - surely the point of having such a large civil service is that we have contingency plans for the collapse of any world power, along with plans for a lot of less-likely scenarios - but considering the response to COVID was such a shit-show, that might be wishful thinking. Who could have seen a global pandemic happening, eh, maybe have a few plans to activate just in case?
