Fuck Joe Rogan. I have no idea how that shitheel became as popular as he did. I subscribed to his podcast for a while just to see what the deal was, and you sort of figure him out after a few listens. He sells alt-right theories under the guise of being a centrist. If a man talks like a duck, and walks like a duck…then he’s a fucking duck. He’s anti-vax (because his body is a temple, yeah? But then when he got COVID motherfucker loads himself up with everyfucking medication under the sun - ), he pushes toxic masculinity, he constantly says racist shit, he’s gone and purposely misgendered people, and he’s constantly hosting alt-right speakers.

Essentially, he’s a con artist, selling alt-right viewpoints under the guise of it being, “totally, like, centrist bro”. Look, you can believe him…he smokes weed man.

His body is a temple, so trust him on all of these supplements he says you should buy.

I hate him to. I especially hate that he has repeatedly platformed Alex Jones. Post Sandy Hook.

I listened to his podcasts like, approximately 6 years ago. He had interesting guests and they were allowed to speak and he asked questions to go with the topic and keep the conversation flowing. Then as time went on his ego inflated and I stopped listening in time to avoid all of the stuff you listed above.

Alternatively, he may have been like that from the get go and I was too young to see it, but I feel like his popularity built up from when he was interesting and the devoted fans stuck around for his shitshow.

My favourite interview he had was with Paul Stamets. Other than that I’d never recommend Joe Rogan to anyone.

      Alt-right theories like what?

Honest question, before I get down voted to hell and made fun of with no actual answer to the question like the last time I tried to work out why Lemmy hates Rogan so much.

Absolute free speech is perhaps the main one. Radical free speech, “just asking questions”, “every one should be allowed to say their point of view”. It’s usually just an excuse to give a platform to racists, anti-semites, xenophobes, religious extremism, white supremacists, nazis, queerphobes and every other hate speech under the sun. That and giving credence to every single lunatic conspiracy theory that the cesspits of the internet can come up with. “But are democrats really smuggling kids to pedophiles out of pizza restaurants?” kind of theories. He almost never questions, criticizes or pushes back the worse drivel that alt-right guests spew on his show.
