    Quebec is offering workers a nine per cent salary increase over five years, with an additional lump sum of $1,000 the first year.

    Not a serious offer. Honestly insulting. Less than 2% per year while waving around a meagre $1k like it’s a treat. Expect a strike if they don’t do better than that.

    9% over 5 years is pitiful. The unions demands for raising real wages (indexing to inflation then adding 1-2%) make more sense, because if we see 3% inflation over the next 5 years, then in real terms workers will have taken a 7% pay cut with the government’s offer.

    I think it might be grève time.
