When is a level of detail considered “obsessive”? Asking for a friend.

For some simmers, I don’t think there is a limit. Was using XP12 and noticed the manifold pressure dropped to atmosphere when the engine stopped just like in real life. Appreciated the detail. Ideally every button and dial works like real life. Textures and materials are convincing enough for complete immersion.

You’re doing great work. I’ve been following your posts on X-Plane.org as well. I really hope you make it to a first release. I modelled a V35, completed the outside only + flight model. It was enough for me to understand the incredible amount of work required for a fully functional high def airplane.

      Thanks for the kind words!

I’m definitely trying for “as detailed as I can make it”.

As well as the good old Milton Shupe Commander from my FSX days, I’m really looking at two particular projects for aspiration; one is Ksgy’s Antonov AN-2 and the other is Moosaa’s Baron 58 Ultimate edition.

I have fond memories of taking the AN-2 on a cross continent Africa tour after switching from FSX to XP9. And the Baron is what I’m hoping to achieve in terms of features.

The instruments? Yeah. 100% 3D rigged.

It’s one of my primary goals of the project is that everything in an instrument(with the exception of LCD screens obviously) are physical.

      Needles move, compasses spin, etc…

I won’t accept the panel being just 2D instruments wrapped into the 3D surface. I have to be better than that or what’s the point?

Essentially, if I don’t end up with a freeware aircraft that has at least somewhat close to the value of a payware aircraft, than its unacceptable to me. It’s a matter of pride.
