Hi, admin here again. Don’t think I can comment from my own instance since I’m now blocked? Anyway, sorry for the inconvience folks, like I said the last time this came up - I’m happy to mark these posts as ‘local only’ or ‘bot’ or whatever people suggest - is that possible?
I guess the point is moot now, but I’m still actively trying to encourage adoption of Lemmy in my hometown, it’s the usual chicken and egg problem, but I thought having a feed from (for example) two blogs about the local area (farmers market and a community centre for example) in one locality-specific subcommunity would help drive conversation and make it a useful one-stop shop for users.
I just realised there was a change to the createPost() API. It returns it’s $post variable inside ‘post_view’, i.e. $response[‘post_view’][‘post’] rather than $response[‘post’] - which caused quite a few duplicate posts to be made. Just discovered and fixed that now.
I agree tbh, its mainly blog spam, I’ll disable it for now.
Fair enough! Hopefully we can review that in a year or whenever the majority of posts are no longer automated, whenever that may be :P
Yeah this is really annoying. I end up setting Lemmy to only show me posts local to lemmy.ml
I still would like to see what’s being posted on lemmygrad and some of the other instances. Right now 80% of every page in All is this Glasgow stuff that nobody wants to read.
