    when vaseline gets on a bird’s feathers, it can prevent them from flying or insulating themselves properly. the bird can also ingest vaseline -making them sick. don’t use vaseline jelly to grease a bird feeding pole.

      I checked a bunch of other sources included the one you quoted, and it seems like there isnt really a confirmed answer, but the general unconfirmed answer is that you are correct.

      Birds can eat vasoline in low doses and it is sometimes intentionally used to help them with certain issues. However, getting it on their feathers does generally seem to be bad. Thanks for letting me know, ill edit my comment to reflect that its a bad idea.
