At least there was hope. Now there is a guaranteed death, thanks to Hamas. “for a better life” in this case the leveling of the entire Gaza Strip and the obliteration of ANY hope of self governance?

There was no guaranteed death, things were very difficult and would have continued to be for a long time. At least there was hope.
Now there is a guaranteed death, thanks to Hamas.
