I’m poor, I dabble. I don’t want to pay a monthly fee, so I’m wondering, what’s your favorite free art generator or free tier from a commercial one?

Currently, I’m using https://mst.xyz/tools/AIImage for free and the free tier from https://app.leonardo.ai

If you have a somewhat recent NVIDIA gpu, running Automatic1111 locally on your machine is amazing. You get to tweak pretty much every parameter you want to, upscale as much as your vram allows, and the only cost is electricity. Also, the all the different plugins available for it.

Second this. It’s a bit of a pain to get running on NixOS but it feels so good to have everything running on your own machine

You may want to check out AI Horde

    https://aihorde.net/

    https://github.com/Haidra-Org/AI-Horde

A massive crowdsourced distributed inference cluster for AI Models. This software can support both Image and Text generation. It allows people without a powerful GPU to use Stable Diffusion or Large Language Models like Pygmalion/Llama by relying on spare/idle resources provided by the community. It also allows non-python clients, such as games and apps, to use AI-provided generations.

The main developer is A Division by Zer0 who has a pretty popular instance on Lemmy actually.

I use my computer. It’s free (once you already bought it) 😂. I was thinking of buying another gamer laptop but my income is shit right now.

I just dabble and use DALLE2. You all are making me want to try others though, what’s the main differences or a reference to read about them?
