Late morning snack… This little burrowing owl winked at me as if asking: “Want a piece of this bug? Well… you’re getting none” :-)
I looked them up and it’s seems they’re commonly mistaken for each other. It could be either since both are found in the area borrow owls are. I don’t think I’ve ever seen either, personally. Both look pretty neat though.
