I think the domination of US firms in the defense industry will last for a long time, just because of how lucrative it is combined with the fact that the quality of life you can have in America with those kinds of salaries is generally higher than in europe (of course the middle and lower classes of society suffer as a result but Raytheon engineers don’t seem too bothered by that)
