I’m still at a point where I’m more than satisfied with PS4 era graphics and would rather just see better performance. But, these publishers just keep pushing graphics more and more. Meanwhile I’m happily enjoying my backlog of older titles instead of pre-ordering these new system demanding titles.

Much more important than graphics is framerate. 1080p is more than enough as long as it maintains a consistent 60FPS or higher. The fact a high budget game like Starfield is capped at 30FPS is unfathomable.

What would be better is if game companies focused on releasing games that worked but had lower res textures. Then eventually release a patch supporting higher res textures. Hell, charge for it if they want another means of double-dipping on games. But a game should be 100% functional on day one, not the polished turds being churned out today.

It’s one thing I miss about old consoles with no internet access. You released a working game or your game flopped. Too many flops, your company folds. Like it deserves to. Shit companies make shit games, good companies make good games.
