Rocket League is set to get Easy Anti-Cheat in April, as the Epic Games owned studio Psyonix just recently announced.

Posting on Reddit, a Psyonix dev mentioned that there will be options to run the game with Easy Anti-Cheat enabled and disabled so that mods will still work but not for online games. Additionally, thankfully, they will not be breaking running the game on Linux platforms with Proton as it will be enabled.

But why? I have never seen where cheating could go unnoticed for years. Last time I saw any cheating was a jump cheat but that was back in 2017ish.

I’ve seen a trailer for a cheat that showed ball trajectory, but that was years ago

I know what your talking about and it wasn’t a cheat. It was a limited event. And IIRC it was HARD even with the trajectory.

Is that even helpful though? It’s not like it helps with aiming, since you can only know the trajectory after bumping the ball.
Only case where it might help is intercepting a shot, assuming the trajectory renders on all shots, not just yours.

Beyond a certain level this wouldn’t help at all as you would already have a good sense of trajectory but moreover you need to understand timing, which a trajectory doesn’t provide.

If you could see exactly where the ball is going, or where it will land, and others cant, then its a slight advantage. Not as much as wall hacks or god mode, but statistically significant.

It would be like having a reticle on Goldeneye 64. A recording of the game would make the user look better at prediction.
