Democrats seem to be getting their mojo back as the midterm season heats up.

Nope, people just see fascists coming and are voting for the only option that isn’t that. I yearn for either a D party that actually does something or actual 3rd party representation that doesn’t effectively go in the toilet.

I don’t think we will ever see a good option until the absolute worst option is just out. I have always been left/liberal but I at least understood conservative principles and felt they abided by them to some degree back in the eighties (even as they abandoned debt and deficits). They have been on a long track of abandoning any priniciples they have when it comes to themselves and people literally have to be nuts to be voting for this. If the republicans went the way of the wigs I see either the democrats splitting pretty quickly or a third party start taking wins away from them. Its just not going to happen though if a third of the population is ready to vote for facism.

From my experience living in the US, the American centre-right is not going to address the root cause of the rise of oligarchy. It hits a bit too close to home for the party leadership and their voters are too well off (on a relative global basis) and too risk averse to support targeting corruption in a substansive manner.

That being said, tactical voting is a sane and reasonable approach. I’ve done it many times in my own country.
