I can’t mentally square how someone could claim their instance is general use, run a general meme community, and also openly state the community purpose is to further specific ideology. Wow.
Nothing against surfacing lesser heard voices, but that’s not the place for a generic meme comm (go make a leftymemes equivalent or something), and we all know that isn’t what’s really going on here.

We don’t expect you to be a communist, just think and act like our hyper-specific sect of “communism” at all times or face an immediate ban. Sure.
The irony is that the whole existence of that instance is living proof of how catastrophic their ideas would be if implemented more broadly, and I have no doubt they’ve educated many lemmings on this fact unintentionally.
How can Russia be in the global south it’s fully in the northern hemisphere.
Remember, authoritarianism is good if it comes disguised with a hammer and sickle. So they are both the plucky underdog AND the might superior country.
Everything have to be politically inspected now it seems.
I dunno how many meme communities I have to block.
Im so thankful for this community, it lets me block their instance, and still get the occasional chuckle from their insanity.

I’m really not a fan of .ml, but I’m not sure I see what’s objectionable in either of these posts.
Because they mean “please fellate our favourite dictators”. They don’t actually say that, but that’s what they mean. The “voices from the global south” that they’re talking about are Putin, the CCP, the Ayatollah and their assorted and equally unsavoury friends.
If you say that genociding Uyghurs is not okay, the lemmy.ml admins consider that to trigger the rule about colonialist mindset. Similarly, if you talk bad about the Russian colonization of peoples such as Mari and Buryats or Tatars, that is seen by them as an example of you having a colonialist mindset. And those messages of yours then get removed by the mods.
