Has it become part of your daily routine? Is it useful for one season out of the year?
A Snuggie blanket. Got it from an ex and thought I’d hate it when I got it since it was pretty popular to hate on them at the time. I’ve had it for over a decade now and it’s so perfect for playing video games or using a computer when it’s cold.
They still make those, very interesting
Sounds luxurious, I might have to look one up
My mom got me this folding LED desk lamp that I use for electronic repair work. She got it when TEMU first came out, so It’s got that quality you’d expect from such platforms. I don’t use it often, but when I need a lot of light in the living room, it comes in clutch!
I got an Atari STE when I was 14 for Christmas. I’m 48 and it’s still going strong. Best Christmas present I ever had. Sure, it spent 20 years in the attic while I was living my 20s and 30s, but I refurbished it about 5 years ago and I still love it. Got my kids playing it now and then, although Golden Axe doesn’t really compete with some of the PS5 stuff they’re into.
That’s so good! Yeah, they didn’t have all the research about building the perfect addictive game back then.
Two years ago I was gifted a green Rick-and-Morty Pickle Rick coffee mug with Rick’s pickle face one one side and the words “PICLKE RICK” on the the other side. I use it almost daily.
Instant pot is one, it’s so useful and forgiving to me as someone who is not a confident cook.
Stainless steel frying pans. I think they cook best of all, I’m a big fan of the cooking methods of the restauranteur Frank Prizinsano even if he is an asshole in his personal life, and that’s what he uses.
The first thing that springs to mind is a Moka coffee maker which I use almost daily. I got it around 2021 IIRC and expect to be able to use it for a long time.
A fountain pen, a few books.
The two gifts I have absolutely used the most out of all other gifts are a very soft blanket I got last year, alongside a pair of over the ear bluetooth beats. Got both last Christmas and they’re the things I use the most. Most other gifts I haven’t used as much.
My wallet
socks. so many socks! (Best gift ever)Creality Ender 3 v1 3d printer. Wasn’t called v1 because there was only one version but they’ve released several models since then. It’s a bare bones kit, no bells and whistles. No auto leveling. No run out detection. I had to add thermal runaway myself. I absolutely love it. I love difficult things.
I did get it a big brother a few years later. (sovol SV06 plus)
That’s a great gift! Did the giver know you would enjoy the challenge?
100%. I love tinkering and had been talking about getting one for about a year.
A picture on the wall is practically in use 24/7, right? My grandma gifted it to me many years ago. It’s hanging in my living room, above my sofa. Kinda artsy, semi abstract, and with structure. Decent size.
Does picture always mean photograph? What’s the correct term for an art piece?
I’d assume a picture is taken with a camera. An art piece would be called a painting or a print, maybe just framed art if it’s not clear how it was made
