Plants vs Zombies, Zuma, and Rocket Mania remain some of my most enjoyed casual games and run on almost any computer from the last 10 years at least. Does anyone else like these games?

I miss Insaniquarium. Simultaneously the most chill and most stressful game.

I have bejeweled installed, that I paid for no ads. And I still play it. My partner has the original plants vs. zombies that she paid for with no ads and still plays that too.

    So, yes?

Nice! Some time ago I got a PopCap bundle on a steam sale and got several games for not very much. Totally worth it.

Ooo that sounds cool! I mean, are these the best games ever made? No. But I dunno, they are fun, especially when you are waiting for something (I have bejeweled on my phone), like a train or for an appointment where you don’t exactly know how long you have to wait.

Pop Cap invented the match 3 tile genre and practically built the casual games market by itself. Hard to imagine anyone who hasn’t played something by Pop Cap.

One of my earliest godot projects was a remake of Zuma, which I still sometimes play on my phone :D Too bad I’ve lost its source code, but at least I have its apk to play it on my mobile devices.

It had custom drawn assets, has features like time trial (endless ball dispense), monochrome (the ball colors disappear), lsd (the background goes on an acid trip), custom speed curve; or the classic 1-8/9-8 level progression, which uses the same levels but keeps increasing the speed curve/color patterns.

A really good and simple game to recreate as a first project.

Insaniquarium, Bejeweled, and Mummy Maze were a core component of my childhood.

If there was a decent way to get controller support on Zuma so I can play it on my Steamdeck like on the 360 then I’d be playing it right now!
