I’m in a new place this year and have only been finding puffballs. This was pretty exciting.

What type of mushroom is this?
Maybe a porcini?
i’m voting no, this looks like some other less tasty bolete, you can tell by how large and rough/ragged the cap is.
At least, when they look like this they might as well be a different mushroom because they’re not very appealing at all.
That’s fair. It wasn’t slimy or infested with bugs. The flesh was nice! I don’t have a lot to work with here 🤷
Sorry! It is some kind of Bolete, I believe likely edulis aka porcini. It didn’t stain, that is what mattered to me.
