so long as it doesn’t do pedo apologia 20+ chapters in like certain series 😒

It’s if the characters are the same age relative to each other. If they’re classmates who are both minors, the dynamic is even.

I personally prefer the rare yuri stories that actually focus on adults, as I think the childhood romance setting is oversaturated at this point.

I read this one during the weekend and wow, I hate the MC so much.

Yuni gets princess carry by my dream woman (her girlfriend) and can only think of her mistress.

I wish Nanase dumped Yuni and got with Yuki already.

I can’t be bothered with a silver tongue stalker like Fuuko.

Good manga but the twists should have ended with the easy route of dump and forget at the fourth volume.

Shiro to Kuro - A dark office lady yuri about ambitious women with a violent, sexual rivalry.

I Hate Things Like Love - A 3 chapter story about a jealous childhood “friendship”

False Marigold - Less toxic than the first two, but definitely a messed up story.

There are others that I don’t think go over the line into pedo apologia, but still skirt it closely enough to not recommend in this context.

False Marigold was good, but it would’ve been even better if it hadn’t gotten axed. I’ll also slide in here and add these:

        • Destroy It All and Love Me in Hell by Kuwabara Tamotsu - Honors student gets tangled up with a delinquent and gets tired of wearing a mask. Goes full sicko mode. Many such cases.

        • There is No Love Wishing Upon a Star by Murasakino - A love triangle between three childhood friends is rough, especially if you have serious trauma connected to the very concept of romance.

        • I Love Amy by Unun - Korean immigrant kid with some hidden trauma × literal yandere psychopath. It’s actually more wholesome than you’d think…

        • Thinly Veiled Passion by Togane Sakura - Great little oneshot about heartbreak and envy.

        • Our “Love” is Disgusting by Usui Shio - H-has anyone checked in on the author? Is she okay‽

          Yeah, I’m one of them.

What happened to Usui Shio? Has she vanished?

Oh, Usui Shio is fine, as far as I’m aware. That was just a joke about how her previous works were very tame, whereas this new one is just absolutely deranged. Would never have guessed that she had that in her.

I come back from reading the Shiro to Kuro manga and it was really interesting. I liked the characters a lot even when they are both the same at the beginning and with the story progressing, they begin drifting apart until they no longer care about fighting. The grafic violence felt raw and erotic in a way, I may be messed up a little

I liked I hate things like love but it was really sad

        spoiler

It really seemed like Emi wanted to have some kind of romantic relationship at the beginning but it morphed into wanting to protect You and then just friendship. I admit I was too blinded by what I thought was foreshadow with Emi “protecting” Yuu from bad influences. But after the kiss, I think I understood. Pretty confusing ngl
