Earth/Fire/Air/Water? Got any extras? Eighteen types like in Pokemon? Or are your elements completely different?

I much prefer the element of inevitable predictability.

The spell is already cast. There’s nothing that you can do to stop it. All you can now do is attempt to change how it affects the world.

While I do have elemental magics as they’re presented in pop culture, they primarily belong to the school of Shaping. Shaping uses magic to inact change on the physical world, so a fireball is actually using magic to superheat the air and contain it as a plasma before letting it explode elsewhere. Flavored magics like this are normally sparce. Shapers naturally start with exerting raw force and for the same level of practice it takes to learn how to heat and cool materials, you can learn how to focus your magic into pinpoint strikes that are near instant and functional invisible. While there are benefits to raising a wall of stone instead of a wall of force, the general use is 99% the same and the wall of force is easier to master.
