Sparked by another conversation I was having here on Lemmy it reminded me of this video. Trucks and SUVs have completely taken over the North American roadways and are making inroads in Europe. Why though, when there are so many alternatives?
This video came out a while ago and I absolutely recommend watching it. NJB is a staple of the urbanism movement, and this video is one of his best.

As an aside, the first time I posted this video anywhere was on Facebook, to someone who was literally trying to convince me that it was not the fault of a truck owner for literally running over a child in the street. No sarcasm, no joking, could not be swayed that it was not the driver’s fault in that scenario.
