Good. If these centers plan on sucking up tons of power, make they pay for it and the infrastructure improvements required to service them. I also like the idea of making them estimate power usage and pay at least 85% of the estimate, but I have a feeling this will lead to centers under guessing their future usage together last that.
This but also state and local government needs to start requiring an impact mitigation plan before approving the building of these data centers. The same way they might require an environmental impact study they need to understand the impact a data center will have on the electrical grid and require them to offset it.
Sounds like something they would do to their customers. Sounds fair then.
This is the one thing keeping me from opening my own data center in Ohio
