    i love both when used appropriately. a nameless protagonist trope works with souls games (and Elden Ring as their direct successor) because of their theme of life cycles and repeativeness. plot of Sekiro, LoP, etc. strongly associated with uniqueness of the protagonist, the story is more detailed and personal

    I prefer the freedom to make my character as cute or as horrifying as I want.

    I like what hollow knight did.

    You find out you’re just the latest incarnation of the hollow knight, and you have to fight the last one

        They’re also wrong. Hollow knight actually has very flushed lore and there is nothing cyclical in the ending (even the basic one is just a correction of an imperfection).

          Would it be a soulslike if the obvious surface reading wasn’t wrong/missed the depth of the lore?
