UGH
Downfall.
I don’t know how, when, or why, but every dumbass near me started using “downfall” in a sentence where you would use “drawback”.
Those dumbasses are the drawback of humanity.
Like and Subscribe. I don’t like when YouTubers say that, especially at the beginning of a video.
For me it’s “I will see you in the next video” especially when they give a day (“on Thursday”) assuming I what the video the minute it’s uploaded and not a year later. Also, you never saw me and most likely never will. That’s not how videos work. I see the content creator but they don’t see me. Get your facts right.
It is what it is.
It never comes out of the mouth of an intellectual.
“Slams” when it is actually “mildly disagrees”
“Speaks out”. Commonly used by news organizations to describe anyone saying anything.
“Just do…”
That “Just” always skips 20 steps.
I find myself annoyed by “not gonna lie”/“ngl”,“just sayin’”, or really anything along those lines that gets tacked on without adding anything to the statement.
Normalcy instead of normality
When people write “chefs kiss”. Utterly harmless but OH GODDESS IT GRINDS MY GEARS
I’ve got two teenage boys that only know the word, “brah”

Commonly heard in IT circles; “Let’s spin up a meeting”.
There are literally dozens of less stupid words you could use.
the phrase “rustles my jimmies” really, well, gets under my skin
burns my biscuits
ruffles my feathers
grinds my gears
bruises my tomato
pisses in my lemonade
rains on my parade
gets my hackles up
gets my garters in a twist
That really spangles my jingadoons.
“Fam.” Seems to have died now, and thank god.
“The first step is to admit you’re wrong”
Yea, now do steps 2 to 10, asshat.
