Why is no one pointing out that they lied?

Perhaps this is one of the rare times where we can just take the W in the sense that society managed to move beyond such a stupid sentiment without it needing that much criticism?

Sure, there are still people out there dumb enough to believe that shit. But they are such a minority at this point that digging this argument up from the dead to be criticized is a waste of time
