    That’s the impression I got from the release video. But it needed to be confirmed.

    This isn’t surprising. But it’s disappointing considering that WOTL has the tie-in content with XII, it seems to have been considered the definitive version of FFT, and this thing is going to cost $50.

    I’d be buying this full-price if it had been WOTL. Now I’m not sure how long before it comes down to a price I’m willing to pay for it.

    There’s a bunch of jobs that feel like a staple to Final Fantasy to me and Dark Knight is one. I’ll miss it, but I understand them sticking to the original and updated it instead of updating War of the Lions version.

    Given that they (the creators) weren’t involved in any of the WotL changes and it doesn’t align with their overall vision of the game, I’m happy with the decisions they’re making. I don’t believe it will lessen or cheapen the story or game itself when there’s so much more going in to IC.

    I can still play WotL if I want, and I’ll be keeping my pre-order in place for this, and I’m happy Europe gets a proper physical release (unlike the original).
