Sounds similar to the purpose of boxing gloves.

FSU lost two games before the end of week 1. Impressive.
Living in the state, I think the anger aspect was entirely reasonable.
I am against the death penalty. I do believe some people deserve death. But I also don’t think anyone should have that authority over someone who isn’t a threat.
So yeah, I agree that I’m not in a position to say that someone deserves death.
To be clear, I don’t think the implication was why you were downvoted. I think you just sounded a bit pedantic. Like you were correcting them without adding to the conversation.
I just happened to enjoy the pendantry.
By the way, I’ve also been in a position where I was downvoted with zero explanation, even after asking for it. So I get the frustration. Even a bad explanation is preferred to no explanation. So I hope that helps and you continue to contribute however you feel comfortable.
No worries. I don’t mind being told that I’m wrong. And the implication I mentioned is purely just my own observation.
The post to me sounded like they were calling out their sister who thinks men are being raised to be too feminine. It’s a common accusation that younger people are “raised by women” without enough masculine role models. It’s all Alpha-Beta theory BS.
The commenter you replied to was saying that applies to every son.
Your comment seemed to inadvertently offer a solution that the Alpha-Beta types would NOT be happy with, gay parents. No “mothering” required.
I just read your two comments. I mean this as constructive and helpful. Sorry if it comes off as rude.
On the bridge you start interrogating about the incorrect answer to your first question. It’s quite presumptuous. I wouldn’t have downvoted. But it also doesn’t seem like a big deal.
On your gay adoption comment, I get what you were saying. It came off really pedantic. But also, the implication is hilarious that the way to make men “manly” is to have them raised by gay men.
Empathy for rapists and murderers is NOT the reason I’m against the death penalty.
The duopoly does represent the people. People suck sometimes. The Democratic Party is the method for people like her to push change. The Democratic Party gives her cause MORE power by consolidating efforts
If there was overwhelming support, even just among liberals, Bernie would have won in 2016 or 2020.
Nobody said to ONLY do the bare minimum. I said you’re doing less than the bare minimum.
I’m thinking you’re being intentionally dense.
If you’re not doing the bare minimum, your opinion literally does not matter.
Also, nobody said bare minimum is enough. It’s the bare minimum, by definition.
Frustration isn’t a reason to give in to a fantasy.
You want a party that will support those initiatives? You have one. It’s the Democratic Party. If they don’t have enough support now to get that shit done, they’re definitely not going to when Republicans take over.
You may not like it, but Dems (specifically liberals and progressives) need more power to enact real change. If you’re working against that, you’re working against your own goals to make yourself feel better.
It’s not a false choice. It’s reality. You can either choose to oppose Trump or you can decide it’s fine.
To be clear, I’m in a red state that has been directly impacted by Trump’s judicial picks and his MAGA extremism. I take personal offense against me and my family when people don’t do the bare minimum to keep Trump out of power.
Well, Republicans are actively opposed to those things. And Democrats need enough support to enact those things.
It’s frustrating for Dems too. And it’s more frustrating when people like Jill Stein make it harder. She should join the party instead of fighting it. But I guess this makes her feel better. She can dislike the system, but things are going to get worse if Republicans win. Just like things got worse in 2016.
That’s a lot of words to say you’re fine with Trump winning and you’re not planning on opposing him.
So you’re fine with Trump. Got it.
What’s the goal for Jill Stein? Climate change initiatives? Liberals are fighting in the trenches to make change while she’s giving lipservice.
Policy making isn’t easy, democracy is slow. Holding the Democratic Party hostage to force them to do something they already want just hurts the cause.
Bonus rankings! This one is more straightforward. Teams get points for wins. They get more points for beating good teams and fewer points for beating bad teams. (+32 for beating the best team, +1 for beating the worst). Teams lose points for losses. They lose more points for losing to bad teams and fewer points for losing to good teams. (-32 for losing to the worst team, -1 for losing to the best). The points total has been reset with the first game of the season.

Sure enough. Now it is for me too. It definitely wasn’t earlier. I don’t know if that’s on Sling or ESPN.
They still relegate some games exclusively to ESPN+, but at least this time it’s not.
All of their artwork really does look like a fake game in an ad for a PC or tech college.
