“Dumbphone” price: $500
Edit: Years ago my phone broke and didn’t feel like spending money on a new one so I purchased a prepaid $20 candy bar style dumbphone and used it for 6 months.
The only reason I ended up buying a smartphone was FOMO. Not necessarily because I needed one but because I felt like I was missing out on “things”.
In truth, I don’t know if I really was. I’ve had this smartphone for 5 years and I’m wondering what I’ll do when this one dies.
It’s a lot of money, but the point of the dumbphone community (as outlined in the sidebox) is not about money but about regaining control of one’s life.
