Working retail and other shit jobs are only embarassing because the elite have convinced you that they are not worthy of respect.
I respect a cashiers a hundred times more than any C-level position.

    You can test this yourself:
Imagine you’re the owner of a bike shop and a friend came in needing bike-work. You would be proud to provide for them and fix any issues they had with their bike.

So why are we embarassed when checking out people we know at the store?
    Yeah, good question.

I work at a bakery and teach German classes (in Germany). One of my students came in the other day and I made her a sandwich to order, which I felt 100% normal about, but my bakery manager felt awkward about. The student seemed to feel a little weird too, but she ordered it, lol.

Then she missed my class later that afternoon -_-

I worked customer service at Kmart for a few years and encountered a lot of old classmates. Fortunately I had lost a bunch of weight since I had last seen them, and all of my hair fell out, so nobody knew who I was. I could tell some people thought I was maybe familiar, but I was never identified outright. I felt like a secret agent.

One time this girl i barely knew walked into my work. I said hey Courtney how are you? She looks at me like I’m crazy and asks for my boss by name. She wasn’t Courtney but a doppelganger
