AI is annoying. But it’s also gonna do some amazing things. People don’t like the idea of being 1-upped by AI.

Well, that isn’t the attitude to have considering it’s a snow ball rolling down hill getting bigger and bigger. You’re not going to just ignore it. It isn’t gonna just go away.

I suggest people learn how to adapt to it’s existence instead of using energy complaining about it. I don’t much care for how it’s being used lately, either.

Yes. It absolutely is going to replace things. And you’re going to do absolutely nothing about it because you can’t. It’s not replacing stuff from the past but going forward, yes. It will.

Art isn’t getting replaced by AI. I mean, some will, but it’ll likely make REAL art more valuable. If tearing up AI art is what makes you feel like you’re actually moving the needle, you do you.

That sounds like what a grumpy 6 yr old would do. They’re called temper tantrums. You can’t just go through life letting your emotions dictate things. I don’t like my bar tender. Do I punch him in the face every time I see him?

No, because I don’t let my emotions dictate my actions.

    Man the fuck up.

What’s this “removed by lemmy.world” crap? Is it that part of the joke or has lemmy.world started censoring posts?

Some artists are voluntarily contributing to training models when they’re paid for their content.

Other artists are training their own models individually or as collectives for specific purposes.

Using stolen work without compensation and attribution isn’t okay, vandalise away, unless the work is meant to be artistic or social commentary in itself.

It may not be black and white.
