Hey all, I’m trying to update OSM in my area but it is incredibly tedious to outline every building and add addresses. Is there any tool that can partially automate any of this process? Thanks!
I have essentially no knowledge of this, but I saw a post a few weeks back where someone complained that fixing the edits that an automated tool had made based on a satellite image was more work than just manually making the edits. So, yeah, I don’t know if that path is really worth pursuing…
The RapiD editor can help automate the actual traces.
For addreses, I use iD to select multiple building traces along a street and update the street name part but wait until I can confirm the housenumber part via survey.
Some people import building traces from other sources. example
