The John Oliver video goes through your concerns and talks about how:
a. most trans athletes haven’t been winning big, ppl with an agenda have been twisting facts to make it seem like they have.
b. a blanket ban is not the answer, but each sport competition making their own rules based on how many years of hrt the athlete has been on, how much of a difference sex makes for that sport, etc. Which is what was happening for years.
c. There are much bigger and more common issues with women’s sports that we need to address like coaches assaulting athletes, lack of resources compared to male teams, etc. And the same ppl claiming to protect women’s sports by banning trans athletes are voting against measures to fix these issues.
I hate to quote Joe Rogan cause he’s a tool but he summarized it well. A professional female martial artist can beat most men. A professional male martial artist can beat all women.
Sure man whatever makes you feel better. I mean I’ve been tapped out by girls plenty of times in BJJ I don’t have a problem with it, but ask any woman that does martial arts and they’ll tell you how annoying it is to spar with men because of how much stronger they are, like a lot of techniques just don’t work. At the end of the day that is why women’s sports are important.
The statistic I’ve read is that the top 90% of men are stronger than the bottom 90% of women. The inverse of that is that only the bottom 10% of men are weaker than the top 10% of women.
Obviously this is a matter of strength only, and isn’t a direct measure of skills, but in most sports does have an impact on skill. I feel like martial arts is a sport where strength is such a significant factor that weight classes are so strictly measured in such small increments.
Beyond that, I can’t speak in regards to what effect being cis/trans, or other hormonal situations, have on competition.
Yeah weight classes help for women (since it counteracts the fact that men are generally just bigger), but even pound for pound, looking at weightlifting records on Wikipedia men are about 25% stronger. For comparison that is a bigger strength difference than the difference between weightlifting weight classes. Obviously MMA is much more than a strength competition but that would be really hard to overcome. Also, men are quicker with hand and foot speed.
A whole lot of this BS is based on the idea the women are physically inferior to men.
The truth is that when you account for muscle mass/body fat ratios and height, that benefit goes away almost entirely. Men (or more accurately, people with more testosterone) add muscle mass quicker, and will see better results from exercise. Women (or people with less testosterone) can get the same results, but it takes more time.
If you think that all women are inferior to any man (throw back to trump saying he could beat a female swimmer to her face) I’d welcome to you watch the vid where some dipshit bro tried that same thing on Rhonda Rousey.

Also a lot of the cases actually reported were sports where gender doesn’t confer and advantage either way, like disc golf.
The men complaing about it can also fight the mma women to find out how “easy” it is.

If your claim is that men are superior to women because of raw strength then yes.

Wasn’t there a poll where a majority of random men asserted that they could beat one of the Williams sisters at tennis?

Coming from the same guy who is anti-vax and claims vegans cause more harm.
I agree he needs to stay in his lane but he is legitimately an expert regarding MMA
