    IMO this is a terrible headline, but fair criticisms.

    Someone who makes their way to being the first openly trans member of congress – in this political climate no less – is not a coward. That’s incredibly brave. No one else has done it.

    Even if we assume the best of intent with her recent statements, they still don’t seem great. If she was trying to say that we all need to work with people and be patient with them on issues like trans people in sports…yeah, I can understand that because there is a lot of misinformation out there.

    If she means ceding ground on certain civil rights for trans people to try and preserve other rights, then no. If she means voting for democrats who are still against some civil rights for trans people, then no.

    We don’t need more half-assed democrats in power who are going to continue to use trans rights as bargaining chips and throw them to the wolves when politically convenient (looking at you, Gavin Newsom). We need leftists who never waiver on civil rights for any group of people.
