@[email protected] @[email protected] kind of surprised with the telemetry about wayland usage, considering all the comments online about how wayland on Plasma is "still not there"🙄🙄🙄
anyway, happy Plasma wayland user for 2+ years lol@[email protected] @[email protected] Could you make it block PC sleeping? So only after copying PC can go sleep.
@nictakiego @[email protected] @[email protected] +++++ yes yes
I would like more apps and KDE functions to not let the system sleep in the middle of things before they’re done
@LiquidParasyte @nictakiego @[email protected] @[email protected]
I think, the most persons expect to have a long running copy process to be finished before suspend, sleep or shutdown.
But a checkbox in the copy progress window to change this setting on each copy will be great.@ulfi @LiquidParasyte @[email protected] @[email protected] I think a checkbox in settings at most.
@[email protected] @[email protected] Omg THANK YOU for the per-workspace layouts.
@[email protected] @[email protected] Let’s hope Wayland sees improvements by Plasma 7 then. Plasma’s implementation is solid, but it’s still limited by the Wayland protocol and ecosystem, which are just deficient enough to me that I can’t happily use it.
Interesting, I’m super happy on Wayland with Plasma, what problems are you experiencing / what features are you missing?
For me it’s two things:
- Wayland cannot keep window positions and dimensions between sessions.
- Keepassxc’s autofill is not working.
Ohhh, that’s what it is! I’ve used a multi-monitor setup recently and was wondering why (sometimes) windows position where nit remembered. Welp, seems like the bug report about this so still open in KDE and will be fixed eventually …
I’ve also been using Plasma on Wayland with Nvidia with very little problems for at least a couple years
@jlow I wrote a blog post about it a couple weeks ago with a list at the beginning: https://drinkybird.net/2025/03/back-to-x11/
Very nice
