Moe really tries his best to take this province back to the stone age.
Some math, to make a bit of sense of this:
- A $300 charge is what would be collected on 2000 L of fuel ($0.15/L)
- A reasonable gas vehicle would get about 8L/100km
- That $300 charge would be equivalent to that gas vehicle driving 25,000 km in a year.
Anecdotally, I’ve driven my EV about that in two years.
“But EVs are so much heavier than ICE vehicles!” My EV is about 2000 kg. My similar size hatchback is 1650 kg.
Not that it matters now, but nice to see them making good use of carbon tax.
So they are charging more for everything but less for liquor whole sale, cause that makes sense?
