some included claims:

Merz spent the entire campaign assuring CDU voters that he would never, ever, under any circumstances at all, in any conceivable universe, agree to lifting the German debt brake.

the new Pumas had to provide such optimal interior climactic conditions “that they could transport heavily pregnant female soldiers during combat missions.” Specifically, the vehicles had to be built such that munitions fumes would not threaten “amniotic fluid damage among female crew.”

von der Leyen said that these are “extraordinary times” which are a “watershed moment” for Europe and also a “watershed moment” for the Ukraine.”

Did she actually say “the Ukraine”? It is a derogatory term for the territory as a historically colonial purposed bread basket.

I don’t like Ursula either but consider that her native language is German and country names work differently in different countries.

The nazis were very adament about Kyiv, and no more “the Ukraine”, so either bad freudian slip about EU intentions, or ok, language issues.

Or, actually, let’s check the source given in your article (https://www.yahoo.com/news/eu-commission-president-watershed-moment-120153408.html) where there is nary a “the Ukraine” to be found.

Source: Von der Leyen to journalists before the summit, as reported by European Pravda

Quote: "In extraordinary times we need special measures. This is a watershed moment for Europe and Ukraine is part of our European family – it’s also a watershed moment for Ukraine. Europe faces a clear and present danger, and therefore Europe has to be able to protect itself, to defend itself, as we have to put Ukraine in a position to protect itself and to push for a lasting and just peace.

We want a peace through strength, and this is the reason why I present today to the leaders the ReArm Europe plan, which provides up to 800 billion euros for defence investment."

        I can’t believe I’m defending Uschi…
